Psychotherapy

I work with clients across the lifespan (all ages) and am available for individual, family, and couples therapy. I also have experience with group therapy, am trained in conducting medical assessments for gender affirming medical treatment, and utilize EMDR for trauma-based treatment.

Clinically, I utilize a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities including ACT, DBT, EFT, and solution-focused therapy, and conceptualize via a psychodynamic theoretical orientation. I am currently working on my doctorate in clinical psychology with an emphasis in health psychology and have specialized training working as a behavioral health consultant in medical settings as part of an interdisciplinary medical team. As such, I have training in chronic pain management and the ways in which complex physical health challenges impact mental health, which I am also able to to bring to my outpatient practice.

I work with clients both longterm and short-term depending on their needs and have training in brief, solution-focused models of care. However, I enjoy cultivating longterm connections with my clients where I see them for episodes of care, meaning we meet for a period of time when something acute is occurring, we don’t meet when you’re doing well, and you return as needed for follow-up care. I see this as the “primary care model” for mental health, similar to how you might interact with a primary care physician in that you may have the same primary care physician for several years, but only see them for check-ups or as needed when not feeling well. This means you’re not in therapy week after week for an indefinite amount of time and our work is targeted and medically necessary, however you’re not left having to tell your entire life story all over again every time you need mental health support.
